Self-Concepts and Occupational Prestige Among Vocational-Technical Students
Faulkner, Gary L.; And Others
Journal of Vocational Behavior, 11, 1, 75-81, Aug 77
This research examines the relationship between self-concepts and subprofessional occupational prestige ratings of junior college occupational students. Based on cognitive consistency theory, it is hypothesized that high self-concepts are associated with higher prestige ratings for subprofessional occupations. Contrary to such theory, this is not found to be the case. (Author)
