A model for conditions favoring diversified mentoring includes several factors: (1) organizational (heterogeneity, management systems, organizational culture); (2) interpersonal (identification, perceived competence, interpersonal comfort); and (3) individual (cognitive differentiation/stereotyping, diversity attitudes, and prior experiences).
