Family Interaction Patterns as Predictors of Vocational Identity and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy.
Hargrove, Byron K.; Creagh, Maureen G.; Burgess, Brian L.
Journal of Vocational Behavior, v61 n2 p185-201 Oct 2002
Vocational identity scores of 210 college students varied by family achievement orientation. Career decision-making self-efficacy was influenced by family differences in achievement, intellectual-cultural, and moral-religious 'orientation; conflict; and expressiveness. Family interaction patterns thus may play a small but significant role in career planning self-confidence. (Contains 40 references.) (SK)
