A Comparison of Engineers Pursuing Alternate Career Paths.

Compared the career paths of engineers and engineer-managers. Discriminant analysis differentiated engineers from engineer-managers on affiliation and dominance needs and enterprising and investigative interests. Multiple regression analysis found achievement need and conventional interests were predictive of engineer-managers' job satisfaction, while investigative and artistic interests were predictive of job satisfaction for engineers.
