Differences in the Vocational Interests of Research and Development Managers versus Technical Specialists.

Compared the occupational interests of research and development managers (N=110) and technical specialists (N=55). Analysis on the general occupational themes and basic interest scales of the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory indicated the social, enterprising, and conventional areas predicted managerial group membership, whereas the artistic area predicted technical specialist membership.
