The Relationship between Interest-Occupation Congruence and Job Satisfaction.
Swaney, Kyle; Prediger, Dale
Journal of Vocational Behavior, v26 n1 p13-24 Feb 1985
Examined the relationship between congruence and intrinsic job satisfaction for 1,688 young adults. A modest significant relationship was found. The congruence-satisfaction relationship was more pronounced for subjects meeting screens developed for three variables (interest clarity, career salience, and value placed on interesting work) suspected of clouding the congruence-satisfaction relationship.
