Use of the Simplified Color Video Magnifier by Young Children with Severely Impaired Vision.
Muranaka, Yoshio; And Others
Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness, v79 n9 p391-95 Nov 1985

The technique seems especially effective in enriching visual experience of children with severely impaired vision and bridging the interest development gap between picture appreciation and character reading/writing stages.
