The Prestige of the Vocational Education Teacher Occupation

A survey administered to 5,000 vocationally-oriented junior college students rated the college professor, public school teacher, and vocational education teacher among 34 occupations in terms of prestige. The instructors rated sixth, tenth, and twelfth respectively, but all rated low when compared to other professional occupations. (DS)
