Financial pressures may force providers of inservice courses for teachers to evaluate their work. Systematic evaluation demands response to three levels of challenge: the challenge of professional relevance implicit in new styles; the conceptual and organizational challenge of course evaluation; and the challenge of the structure of providing institutions.
