What to Do about Differences? A Study of Multicultural Education for Teacher Trainees in the Los Angeles School District.
McDiarmid, G. Williamson
Journal of Teacher Education, v43 n2 p83-93 Mar-Apr 1992
At the end of their initial year of training, teacher trainees in Los Angeles (California) attend several presentations entitled Multicultural Week. Researchers analyzed presentation content and teachers' views of stereotypes and teaching diverse students before and after the presentation. Results indicated the presentations had little effect on how teachers thought about the issues. (SM)
