The RATE Project: A Profile of Teacher Education Students.

Data is reviewed from the last three years of a national longitudinal survey, Research about Teacher Education (RATE). Analysis of the responses and perceptions of preservice students (N=729-1141) suggests that preservice teachers are characterized by homogeneity, limited cultural horizons, and modest diversity of cultural experience.
