Critical Thinking in Teacher Education: Towards a Demythologization.
Walters, Kerry S.
Journal of Teacher Education, v40 n3 p14-19 May-Jun 1989
This article briefly outlines the dominant critical thinking technique, explains why the reductionistic methodology and epistemic assumptions underlying its strategies are problematic, and suggests that ideological influences have led to critical thinking's uncritical endorsement as a learning technique. More imaginative creative approaches are suggested as complements to the conventional technique. (IAH)
