Interviews with 21 school-to-work partnership directors identified initiatives that assist minority youth: (1) school based (integrated curriculum, staff training, mentoring, career exploration, parent involvement); (2) work based (diversity training, mentoring, career development, equity policies); and (3) sensitive workplaces (successful recruitment and retention of minorities, minority representation at all levels, no discrimination lawsuits, varied diversity initiatives).
