You Guys Are Overreacting: Teaching Prospective Teachers about Subtle Gender Bias.
Lundeberg, Mary Anna
Journal of Teacher Education, v48 n1 p55-61 Jan-Feb 1997
Preservice teachers were led in a subtly biased class discussion on sex bias, then asked to rate the discussion's gender equity. Students also discussed videos about equity, calculated class opinions about biased situations, and heard lectures. Most students considered the class discussion equitable. The intervention increased their awareness of subtle bias. (SM)
