Teacher Education Students' Insights from Intergenerational Literature Circles.
Finke, Janet; Edwards, Barbara
Journal of Teacher Education, v48 n5 p367-78 Nov-Dec 1997
Describes one university's experiment with joining elementary students and preservice teachers in intergenerational literature discussion circles to enhance preservice teachers' learning about reading and the teaching of reading. Both groups enjoyed the literature circles. Resulting themes provided insights about the reading process, the nature of learning communities, the multiple roles of teachers, and children as colearners. (SM)
