Describes the scope and momentum of recent educational development in Malaysia, which poses great challenges to educational leaders, particularly school principals. The article examines the training and professional development of school principals, identifies six groups of teacher educators as the main contributors to the corpus of educational management knowledge, and notes the need for training programs for specific groups of principals who work in different contexts.
