Supply and Demand Analysis of Industrial Teacher Education Faculty.

Industrial teacher education department chairs (n=58) reported on faculty searches. Compared to a 1986-87 study, different technical specializations were emphasized; similar numbers of searches failed; there were fewer applicants per search but more qualified candidates; future demand was more optimistic; and the doctorate now ranks as the highest criterion; (technical expertise was previously highest).
