Cockrell, Karen Sunday; Mitchell, Rosalita D.; Middleton, Julie N.; Campbell, N. Jo
Journal of Teacher Education, v50 n2 p85-93 Mar-Apr 1999
Explored several Holmes Scholars' perceptions regarding the Holmes Scholars Network's influence upon their career development, examining conditions that affected entry into teaching. Four participant researchers collaboratively examined their personal narratives and research texts. Results found three themes: mapping new destinations, surviving in uncharted waters, and navigating shifting currents. The Holmes Group provided powerful socializing experiences that reshaped participants' career paths. (SM)
