What Does It Take To Change Minds? Intellectual Development of Preservice Teachers.
Hill, Lola
Journal of Teacher Education, v51 n1 p50-62 Jan-Feb 2000
Describes an Australian teacher education program in educational psychology that promoted preservice teachers' intellectual functioning in terms of developing critical and reflective judgment; tolerance of doubt, ambiguity, and complexity; and awareness of self-agency. Data from questionnaires, interviews, and measures of intellectual development of students in intervention and control groups indicated that program participation enhanced intervention students' intellectual growth.
