Pedagogic Models, Teachers' Frames of Interpretation and Assessment Practices.
Sakonidis, Haralambos; Tsatsaroni, Anna; Lamnias, Costas
European Journal of Teacher Education, v25 n2-3 p171-86 2002
Constructed a theoretical framework to connect the internal structure of specialized educational discourse with the frames of interpretation that teachers used in dealing with teaching, learning, and assessment. Data from Greek elementary school teachers indicated that teachers' interpretive frames related to the serial languages of traditional, liberal-progressive, and critical-emancipatory pedagogies. There was a discrepancy between teachers' assessment practices and their stance toward assessment policies. (SM)
