Highlights recent experiences editing an educational research journal, noting problems in teacher education research and lessons learned. The paper offers a new way of examining inquiry, locating it in the social realm as a cultural and political practice, and suggesting a situated look at questions about research that might inform the community about its involvement in scholarly conversations and interchange.
