Coteaching in a Science Methods Course: A Situated Learning Model of Becoming a Teacher.
Eick, Charles J.; Ware, Frank N.; Williams, Penelope G.
Journal of Teacher Education, v54 n1 p74-85 Jan-Feb 2003
Implemented a situated learning model of coteaching in the weekly field component of a secondary science methods course. Students cotaught by observing and assisting their teachers for one period, then taught the same lesson, supported by their teachers, the following period. This resulted in comfort in learning to teach, increased confidence in teaching and managing students, critical reflection, and seeing and doing inquiry in practice. (SM)
