Inclinations of Nonhandicapped Children to Help Their Handicapped Peers.
Kennedy, Ann B.; Thurman, S. Kenneth
Journal of Special Education, v16 n3 p319-27 Fall 1982
Ninety-eight primary students viewed videotapes of pairs of children (Down's syndrome/orthopedically handicapped, orthopedically handicapped/nonhandicapped, nonhandicapped/Down's syndrome) needing help to complete a puzzle. Ss were asked which child they would help and why. Overall, the orthopedically handicapped children were chosen first more often than the others. (Author/CL)
