Experience and Achievement: Initiatives in Curriculum Development for Pupils with Severe and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
Byers, Richard
British Journal of Special Education, v26 n4 p184-88 Dec 1999
This article addresses curriculum development for students with severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties in the context of British National Curriculum requirements. It suggests that practitioners have recognized the dangers of "complementary curricula" but are using the concept of "subjects as contexts of experience" to address priority areas for individual pupils in National Curriculum subject-focused group experiences.
