Smith, Steven Bradford; Smith, Sean Joseph; Boone, Randall
Journal of Special Education Technology, v15 n2 p37-46 Spr 2000
This study compared the effectiveness of online instruction and traditional classroom instruction with 58 preservice education students in a course on educational technology integration using three traditional instructional methods: lecture, guided instruction, and collaborative discussion. Student academic outcomes were the same in both online and traditional settings. Some advantage was found to online discussions in contrast to face-to-face discussions. (Contains references.) (DB)
