Personal Constructs and Attribution for Academic Success and Failure in Dyslexia.
Humphrey, Neil; Mullins, Patricia M.
British Journal of Special Education, v29 n4 p196-203 Dec 2002
A British study examined relationships between dyslexia and the ways in which students perceive themselves as learners, specifically their personal constructs and attributional styles. Results indicated that dyslexia has negative consequences for students' individual development. Suggestions are offered for making schools more "dyslexia friendly," providing self-esteem enhancement programs, and providing better dyslexia intervention services. (Contains references.) (DB)
