A Replication Study of Reducing the Risk, a Theory-Based Sexuality Curriculum for Adolescents.
Hubbard, Betty M.; Giese, Mark L.; Rainey, Jacquie
Journal of School Health, v68 n6 p243-47 Aug 1998
Examined whether the behavioral effects of a theory-based sexuality education curriculum could be duplicated for Arkansas adolescents. Pretesting and posttesting of intervention and control students indicated that intervention students significantly delayed initiating sexual intercourse, were more likely to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy, and showed a significant increase in parent-child communication about sexuality.
