Promoting Sun Protection in Elementary Schools and Child Care Settings: The "SunSafe" Project.

The SunSafe program promoted sun protection among rural New Hampshire children in elementary schools and day-care centers using education and outreach. The program was part of a randomized, controlled trial. Evaluation involved parent and teacher feedback, caregiver interviews, student testing, and observation. Results indicated that the program was acceptable and effective in influencing policies, attitudes, and behaviors. (SM)
