Preparing for Controversy: Developing Rules for the Health Classroom.
Wood, Ralph; Duncan, Charles
Journal of School Health, v71 n4 p162-64 Apr 2001
Development of classroom rules is essential for establishing safe and open health classrooms where students can express their feelings and concerns about sometimes controversial subjects. This article explains how teachers can involve students in planning clear classroom rules, thus developing a sense of community. Should classroom behavior become an issue, teachers can refer to the rules generated by the class. (SM)
