This study examined the validity and reliability of a short obesity knowledge scale. A 12-item test was developed covering etiology of obesity, diseases related to obesity, weight loss techniques, and general information on obesity. A nutrition education curriculum, which emphasized the importance of a low-salt, low-fat, and increased complex carbohydrate diet for cardiovascular health, was pilot tested on third and fourth graders. This investigation examined the incidence and types of health-related problems of migrant children as identified by school health medical personnel. This study was to validate a three-component alcohol attitude scale by testing its ability to discriminate between a sample of U.S. university students and their Egyptian counterparts.
