Latinos/as in the United States are the fastest growing segment of the population. In light of this fact, many education researchers and practitioners have turned their attention towards efforts designed to develop an understanding of the Latino/a educational experience. Unfortunately, the research reveals that Latino youth have excessively low levels of high school graduation and college attendance. Of those Latinos/as that do attend institutions of higher education, most enroll in community colleges but do not transfer to four-year institutions. The documents covered in this annotated bibliography shed light on some of the problems that Latino/a students face in attaining a degree and provide examples of community college initiatives designed to help Latino/a students achieve their educational goals.
