Are Working Memory Deficits in Readers with Learning Disabilities Hard To Change?
Swanson, H. Lee
Journal of Learning Disabilities, v33 n6 p551-66 Nov-Dec 2000
A study compared 84 readers with learning disabilities, chronologically age-matched and reading level-matched, for the children's working memory performance for phonological, visual-spatial, and semantic information under initial, gain, and maintenance conditions. The working memory deficits of readers with learning disabilities were hard to change relative to performance changes in skilled readers. (Contains references.) (CR)
