Chin, Christopher E.; Ledesma, Heloise Marie L.; Cirino, Paul T.; Sevcik, Rose A.; Morris, Robin D.; Frijters, Jan C.; Lovett, Maureen W.
Journal of Learning Disabilities, v34 n1 p2-8 Jan-Feb 2001
Concurrent validity of the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (K-BIT) with the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition (WISC-III) was evaluated. Both measures were administered to 65 children (ages 6-7). Results suggest caution against using the K-BIT exclusively for placement and diagnostic purposes with young children with reading disabilities if IQ scores are required. (Contains references.)
