Dyslexia and Neurodevelopmental Pathology: Relationships to Cognition, Intelligence, and Reading Skill Acquisition.
Hynd, George W.; Semrud-Clikeman, Margaret
Journal of Learning Disabilities, v22 n4 p204-16,20 Apr 1989
The article addresses the neuroimaging, electrophysiological, and postmortem evidence concerning the neurological basis of dyslexia and concludes that inconsistent findings may be related to limitations of investigative technologies. Correlates of reading ability and disability are discussed in a developmental-neuropsychological context. Neurometabolic aspects of reading especially need further research. (DB)
