Nonverbal Communication in Children with Reading Problems.
Grogan, Sarah C.
Journal of Learning Disabilities, v21 n6 p364-69 Jun-Jul 1988
Nonverbal communication was investigated in 28 poor readers and matched adequate readers. Poor readers did not differ on smiling or gaze during an interview with an adult. However, they made significantly more filled pauses during the interview. Topic of conversation (in-school or out-of-school activities) had a significant effect on nonverbal behavior. (Author/DB)
