Three surveys to assess both the expressed needs of university teachers for teaching improvement and the means of effecting such improvement are presented. Teachers in Canadian faculties of education were the primary focus of the surveys. Respondents asked for improvement in discussion techniques and group work. (Author/MLW)

Survey data from 165 students entering three Canadian MBA programs were examined for relationships between personal characteristics and importance of program attributes to the students. Strongest program attributes were teaching by case method and social life. Strongest student characteristics were student's age and native language. (MSE)

Grubel, Herbert G. – Canadian Journal of Higher Education, 1981
A survey of citations made and publications cited by all Canadian university economists in 1975 show that the top decile of individuals received 72 percent of all citations and 50 percent received none. Age profiles of citations, self-citation propensities, and journals of publication are analyzed from a sub-sample. (MSE)

Rennie, David L. – Canadian Journal of Higher Education, 1981
A survey of 1976-78 graduates shows almost three-quarters in the labor force, with average salaries of $14,610 (men) and $12,020 (women). Unemployment rates were 9.8 percent (men) and 6.1 percent (women), higher for 1978 graduates. Over 40 percent pursued further training. Program implications are discussed. (MSE)

Lessons learned from the French experience in integrating continuing education into the universities include these: politically and ideologically, adult and continuing education are different and must be treated thus; autonomy is necessary; the university has no monopoly; and marginalization of adult education is a hazard of this approach. A survey of 394 Ontario (Canada) community college faculty found that 34% were involved in paid consulting arrangements in at least one project during a specified one-year period.
