Student Achievement under Foreign Teaching Associates Compared with Native Teaching Associates.
Jacobs, Lucy Cheser; Friedman, Charles B.
Journal of Higher Education, v59 n5 p551-63 Sep-Oct 1988
No significant difference in final examination scores or student ratings was found for students taught by foreign and native Teaching Associates (TAs), when students' ability and TAs' teaching experience were held constant. A moderate positive correlation was found between the foreign TAs' English proficiency score and their students' examination scores and ratings. (Author/MLW)
