The Black-White Scoring Gap on SAT II Achievement Tests: Some of the News Is Cheering.

Academically accomplished applicants to the nation's top colleges usually take SAT II Achievement Tests. While scoring gaps between college-bound Blacks and Whites on these tests tend to be smaller than gaps on the basic SAT, a racial scoring gap persists. However, black students appear to be making progress in closing the racial scoring gap on the SAT II for chemistry, world history, and physics. (SM)
