Correlates of the SAT in Minority Engineering Students: An Exploratory Study.
Fleming, Jacqueline; Morning, Carole
Journal of Higher Education, v69 n1 p89-108 Jan-Feb 1998
A study examined correlations between Scholastic Assessment Test scores and measures of cognitive skills, college adjustment, and motivation among 48 minority students in engineering education, all participating in a support program for students having academic difficulty. Results suggest that lack of positive interactions with teachers plays a role in the academic difficulty encountered by otherwise able minority engineering students. (Author/MSE)
