An Exploratory Study on the Perceptions of Previously Educationally Disadvantaged First Year Learners of Law Regarding University Education.
Tait, Madele; van Eeden, S.; Tait, Mark
South African Journal of Higher Education, v16 n2 p177-82 2002
Focusing on the high failure rate among first-year learners, particularly at black universities, explored student perceptions of their studies. Found that for these students, learner preparation was a non-significant, while lecture style was a significant, influence on their perceptions of university studies. Recommends that students be taught to focus more on their personal contribution to the learning process. (EV)
