Dollars and $ense: Institutional Resources and the Baccalaureate Origins of Women Doctorates..
Wolf-Wendel, Lisa E.; Baker, Bruce D.; Morphew, Christopher C.
Journal of Higher Education, v71 n2 p165-86 Mar-Apr 2000
This baccalaureate origins study examined the relationship between an institution's resources and its production of women (African American, Hispanic, or White) who later earned doctorates. Findings suggest that the baccalaureate origins of women doctorates cannot be linked exclusively to the undergraduate institution's resources, but are also influenced by the focus of the institution and its student population.
