The Citizen Factor: Engaging the Language of Citizenship in a Global Classroom
Simms, Michele
Journal of Hispanic Higher Education, v5 n2 p171-183 2006
Teaching an MBA ethics course, Management and the Social Environment, prompted the focus of this article on citizenship and the work of social entrepreneurs--those individuals involved in a worldwide mobilization of transnational organizations called the citizen sector. The first part presents an overview on citizenship, ethics, and the role of liberal education in management courses. The second part outlines the practice and integration of these concepts to class curriculum and their particular relevance as taught at an Hispanic-serving institution. (Contains 6 notes.)
