Sources of Visual Field Interference in Children and Adults.
Miller, Leon K.
Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, v37 n1 p141-57 Feb 1984
Third-grade, sixth-grade, and college-age subjects were asked to identify briefly presented words accompanied by either words or letter strings in the same or opposite hemifield. Results indicated two sources of visual field interference: one relating to the presence of alphanumeric information elsewhere in the visual field and the other concerning the meaningfulness of that information.
