The Development of Orientation Categories between 2 and 4 Months of Age.
Bomba, Paul C.
Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, v37 n3 p609-38 Jun 1984
A set of studies examined infant categorization of the orientation of visual stimuli by establishing a categorization function for the orientation continuum; attempted to determine a perceptual boundary between "oblique" and "vertical"; and explored the relationship between discrimination abilities and the perceptual boundary. These phenomena were examined developmentally between two and four months of age. (RH)
