Cursive Handwriting: Measurement of Function Rather than Topography.
Talbert-Johnson, Carolyn; And Others
Journal of Educational Research, v85 n2 p117-24 Nov-Dec 1991
Describes an objective, reliable method for functionally measuring cursive handwriting. Researchers assessed the sensitivity of a functional response-class definition to differentiate easy-to-read from difficult-to-read cursive handwriting. Results showed no overlap between the categories. There was small sample-to-sample variability with the easy-to-read and larger sample-to-sample variability with the difficult-to-read handwriting.
