Level of Economic Understanding for Senior High School Students in Ohio.
Stock, Paul A.; Rader, William D.
Journal of Educational Research, v91 n1 p60-63 Sep-Oct 1997
Investigated high school students' levels of economic understanding using the Test of Economic Literacy. Students' scores were analyzed and compared to national averages. The subjects students understood best were currency exchange, competition, and types of economic systems. The subjects they understood least were market failures, inflation, and security of resources. Having taken a high school economics class significantly increased knowledge levels. (SM)
