Influence of Elementary Student Gender on Teachers' Perceptions of Mathematics Achievement.
Helwig, Robert; Anderson, Lisbeth; Tindal, Gerald
Journal of Educational Research, v95 n2 p93-102 Nov-Dec 2001
Third and fifth grade teachers rated the mathematical skill level, classroom behavior, and effort of their students, most of whom had completed mathematics and reading achievement tests. Results indicated that mathematics and reading achievement test scores, together with student effort, were significant predictors of teacher rating of mathematics achievement. Gender was not a significant contributor in either grade. (Contains references.) (SM)
