New Schools in a New Society: Korean Perspectives on Schooling for the Future
Kim, Meesook; Ryu, Bangran
International Journal of Educational Research, v41 n7-8 p543-552 2004
The Phase I survey study of this project indicated that the 24 Korean educational leaders predicted the "Extended Market Model" (Scenario 2) to be the most probable scenario of the future school while they believed that schools as "Focused Learning Organizations Scenario" (Scenario 4) was the most desirable model. In-depth interviews were then conducted with 10 high-profile Korean policy makers and educational leaders to examine the reasons for the discrepancy. Using the constant comparative technique, the interview data revealed three themes having implications for policy. [For Chapter 6, see EJ737600.]
