Achievement Goals as Predictors of Achievement-Relevant Processes Prior to Task Engagement.
McGregor, Holly A.; Elliott, Andrew J.
Journal of Educational Psychology, v94 n2 p381-95 Jun 2002
This research comprised three studies (two prospective and one short-term longitudinal) designed to investigate mastery, performance-approach, and performance-avoidance goals as predictors of achievement-relevant processes prior to the undergraduate examination experience. Results from across the three studies were supportive of hypotheses and revealed a differential predictive pattern for each of the achievement goals. (Author)
