Johnstone, Karla M.; Ashbaugh, Hollis; Warfield, Terry D.
Journal of Educational Psychology, v94 n2 p305-15 Jun 2002
Examined the effects of both general and task-specific writing experiences on college students' writing-skill development. As predicted, repeated practice was associated with superior writing skills and after controlling for repeated practice, writing within a specific test domain was associated with superior writing skills. Implications for teaching writing skills and theories of expertise development are discussed. (Author)
